When Should I arrive?

The race starts at 11.00am prompt on Sunday 23 May 2010

Registration will be open from 9.30am and runners are advised to arrive in plenty of time to complete registration/timing activities. Registration will close at 10.45hrs to allow runners time to assemble at the start

Car Parking

The Rotary Club of Cardiff Bay runs charity car parks for several events each year. Their car park in the University in Cathays Park (entrance in North Road) will be open to the public from 9.00am on 23 May at a charge of £6.00 for the whole day. It is well signposted and participants in the Fun Run are very welcome. All the money collected from the car park charges is used to support the charitable work of the Rotary Club of Cardiff Bay.

There is pay and display kerbside parking in Cathays Park, in the North Road car parks and also in the Greyfriars Road multi-storey car park

Registration Area

Enter Bute Park at the North Road entrance alongside the entrance to the Cardiff Tennis Club, which is about 100 metres north of the junction between North Road and the Boulevard de Nantes. Stewards will be on hand to provide directions

PARTICIPANTS WHO REGISTER IN ADVANCE WILL BE SENT THEIR RUNNING NUMBERS AND ELECTRONIC TIMING CHIPS IN ADVANCE AND DO NOT NEED TO REPORT TO REGISTRATION ON THE DAY

Is there a limit on the number of runners?

Yes. There will a limit of 750 runners

Can I Register and Pay on the Day?

Yes, subject the above mentioned maximum not being exceeded. Please ensure you arrive at registration no later than 10.15am

First Aid

First aid facilities will be be located adjacent to the Registration area

Will water be provided?

Yes. Free bottled water at the finish will be provided courtesy of Waitrose

Will the route be marked?

Yes. Signs will be be present along the 5 Km course and route marshalls will also be in attendance

Can I leave my bags?

Yes. A supervised facility will be provided in the Registration area, but we cannot be held responsible for any losses

Will toilets be provided?

Yes. These will be located in the Registration area

What is the running surface?

The route will follow established, hard surface, paths in Bute Park and the cycle track along part of North Road

Will there be a timing system?

Yes. A chip timing system will operate.

What happens if it rains?

The event will take place rain or shine!

Can entry fees be refunded?

No. it will not be possible to refund fees

Sponsorship Money

You are required to ensure that all your sponsorship money is paid to your nominated charity

Will prizes be awarded?

All participants will be given a wristband confirming their participation in the event and cups will be awarded as follows:

1st Adult Male
1st Adult Female
1st Junior Male
1st Junior Female
1st aged 60yrs or over
1st Wheelchair participant

Is there a minimum age?

Yes. Children under 12 may not participate

To whom is my sponsorship money paid?

All participants pay the money they collect direct to the charity for whom them are raising money
